About Thea
With extensive expertise in general gynaecology and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Thea Bowler is a dedicated advocate for holistic, woman-centred care, supporting women from adolescence through to the post-menopausal years.

Dr. Bowler’s medical journey began at the University of Queensland, where she earned her medical degree before completing specialist training in Queensland and New South Wales. She further honed her skills through an AGES fellowship with leading Brisbane laparoscopic gynaecologists, gaining advanced expertise in treating complex conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and hormonal disturbances like PCOS, PMS, and PMDD.

As Chair of the Queensland Persistent Pelvic Pain Network, Dr. Bowler is committed to improving outcomes for women with pelvic pain. Her work emphasises the importance of multidisciplinary care, collaborating with dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists, and naturopaths to provide comprehensive, tailored support. She is also highly experienced in pelvic floor Botox treatments for managing pelvic floor overactivity.

Dr. Bowler’s dedication to advancing gynaecological care extends to research and education. She has authored academic articles, including guidelines on managing pelvic pain flares, and contributed chapters to seminal Australian obstetrics and gynaecology textbooks. She regularly presents at national and international conferences, sharing her insights and fostering innovation in women’s health.

With a gentle, empowering approach, Dr. Bowler works closely with her patients to create individualised care plans, helping them understand their bodies and reclaim their reproductive and gynaecological health. Her greatest joy lies in providing the tools and knowledge women need to navigate every stage of life with confidence and vitality.
